International students at ASV have a great opportunity to learn the Valencian culture and the Fallas festival. One way in which they learn about these traditions is through an annual field trip which includes a tour of the city center, the visit to the Ninot Exhibit and the afternoon fireworks known as mascletà.
The students studying Spanish as Second Language (SSL) in Elementary participated in this field trip on Tuesday, March 6, with our SSL teacher, Ms. Ana Arjona; the Elementary Vice Principal, Ms. Elena Corchs; and the teaching assistant, Ms. Elena Ferrer. Their peers in High School went on Monday, March 5, with Ms. Lucía Gómez, Ms. Eugènia Bayarri, and Ms. Empar Margaix.
The High School SSL class collected information and photos for a digital project using the app Padlet, which they will complete in a few weeks. The field trip is a festive event for everyone which introduces this well-known local festival and makes them excited to enjoy it with their families.
