ASV’s mission of preparing globally-conscious, life-long learners in an innovative, collaborative and caring environment provides the cornerstone of our academic programs.

Our goal is to foster academic excellence, creativity and individuality. ASV strives to provide innovative and authentic learning experiences for students that challenge and inspire them-both in the classroom and through diverse learning experiences through our co-curricular programs that extend classroom learning.

Academic Standards

We provide a standards based program following Common Core Standards, Spanish National Standards and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, providing a rich consistent program for students from Preschool to graduation. Instruction by highly qualified teachers fosters the critical-thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills needed to be a life-long learner.

Learning at ASV

We nurture the whole child, not only adhering to a rigorous academic program but also emphasizing the IB Learner Profile. We teach our students the tenets of being inquirers, knowledgeable, open-minded, thinkers, communicators, principled, risk-taskers, balanced and reflective.

Curriculum and Teaching Philosophy

Common Core State Standards, International Baccalaureate Standards, Next Generation Science Standards, Spanish National Standards and other internationally recognized curricular standards form the foundation of the school’s curriculum.

Instruction by qualified teachers fosters the critical-thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills needed to be a life-long learner. Although separate curricular standards exist for each discipline, integrated, aligned and cross-curricular instruction occurs regularly in order for students to apply learning in real-life context.
