New Defibrillator at the School Campus

The semi-automatic defibrillator at the Athletic Center is set up and operable. It is a similar device to the one at the main entrance of the school building and enables a fast reaction to medical issues taking place in the school sports area.

The school nurse is working on an operational handbook (considering the specific location) as well as is planning training for staff and faculty.

Although there is no specific regulation on the use of defibrillators in schools, a new law under discussion in Valencia may establish that institutions having more than 1,500 students should have these type of devices. After setting up the first defibrillator in September 2015, this new improvement makes ASV a cardiac protected school, pioneer among other schools on health services within the school campus.
