ASV Parents Meeting. Fall 2016

American School of Valencia held a Parent Meeting on Wednesday evening at the new Athletic Center. Director Michael L. Smith gave a presentation summing up the main changes and enhancements made for the school year 2016-2017. Most visible changes are taking place at the school facilities but ASV also has implemented new academic features on the IB Program and 6th Grade, or has improved the experience of new students throughout the ASV Ambassador Program.

Mr. Smith’s speech included an overview of the beginning of ASV as school in 1980, when it opened with 27 children and 6 staff members.Founder and former teacher Rafael Boscá was invited to share his memories of that stage. Mr. Boscá highlighted the innovative vision of our founders, who wanted for Valencia an international school offering the American curriculum.

After the presentations, attendants had time for questions and comments. Finally they made a guided tour of the Athletic Center and the recently renovated 1st and 2nd grade area.
