The Xaloc senior women’s team won the indoor hockey tournament held at ASV on January 19 and 20, 2019. The competition, known as “Sector 2”, has given the Xaloc-ASV team a position in the national finals which will take place in Seville on February 1, 2, and 3. Indoor hockey is a variation played on indoor courts with five field players and a goalkeeper.
ASV shares part of this achievement as the players prepared the indoor season in the ASV Athletic Center and the Maria Domingo, an ASV student in Grade 12, is one of them. Describing how the team has grown this season, Maria says that the Xaloc-ASV is now “a very solid, cohesive and strong team” and although they respect the rivals “we are not nervous because the work is done and being qualified is a gift for us.” Happily recovered from an injury suffered one year ago, she has been asked to take “more responsibility” playing as midfielder, a key position for indoor hockey.
Our student is doing her best to balance trainings and the IB Diploma: “We have many assignments, everyday there is something to do for several of my courses. Being well-organized is critical to go ahead with all my work”.
We wish Xaloc-ASV a nice trip and the best result in the tournament.
