World Read Aloud Day Celebrated in Elementary School

All classes in Elementary School shared the joy of reading by celebrating World Read Aloud Day on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. Students were invited to come to school in a costume that represented a character from their favorite book. In addition, teachers prepared special activities which included extra reading time and literacy games using the school devices.

Outstanding Participation in the FlipGrid Challenge

One week before the celebration, students were invited to join the initiative “Reading is Fun at ASV” by recording themselves reading their favorite picture book, or the favorite scene from a chapter book.  This challenge using FlipGrid, an educational tool to record videos, was a success and 99 videos were submitted in a few days.  On Wednesday, students were  excited watching their videos.

Read Aloud Playlist for the School Community

As an integral part of the World Read Aloud Day celebration at ASV, we are pleased to present the Read Aloud Playlist on the ASV YouTube channel. This resource will collect read aloud videos offered by our staff that you can watch at home with your child.

Two remarkable pieces of this playlist are the recordings Our Class is a Family and I Love Saturdays y Domingos, two stories read by a number of teachers and teaching assistants in all the school divisions.  Can you identify all of our readers?
