International Nursing Day was celebrated on Wednesday, May 12. This global event aims to highlight the importance of nursing in modern society.
ASV has two full-time nurses, Ms. Inma Requena (right) and Ms. Jorgelina Bruno (left). Their role involves dealing with any medical incident taking place during the school day, as well as developing the ASV school health program. This program includes food control, supervision of allergies and intolerances, supervision of students with chronic diseases such as diabetes, training workshops for students and multiple actions on faculty and staff health.
2020-2021 has been a very complex year for the ASV Infirmary due to the COVID-19 health emergency. “It has been a year full of uncertainty, always focused on monitoring the evolution of the pandemic. However, we worked hard to provide the safest learning environment possible for the entire school community while keeping on top our efforts on prevention and education,” Ms. Inma described.
International Nursing Day is observed on Florence Nightingale’s birthday, a British nurse, writer and mathematician, who defined modern professional nursing.
