During the week of April 26-29, 2022, the American School of Valencia will be celebrating World Book Week with a wide range of learning activities in all of the divisions of the school.
Under the initiative, “One Book, One School”, coordinated by the Curriculum Coordinator, the event aims to celebrate the joy of reading as a whole school and better integrate the ASV Learner Profile into our daily routine. Students in Nursery-Grade 12 will be engaging with the story Violet the Pilot in different ways, from instructional read alouds, analysis of the visual techniques, surface area, and volume calculations of Violet’s inventions, designing/creating student’s own inventions, and experimenting with them, researching aviation pioneers of past and present, to seeing and understanding what being principled looks and sounds like in both the academic and non-academic settings.
The ASV Library along with the Activities Coordinator have also designed some engaging activities: bookmark and book cover design contests for our Elementary students, and a scavenger hunt for our Middle and High School students.
