We are so pleased to finally have two new staff members joining the Elementary School in January 2022 that bring a wealth of diverse experience and skills to the ASV Elementary Team. They are:
Mr. Michael Wurdeman. Grade 2 Blue Teacher
After many, many months of waiting for a visa, Mr. Mike (as he goes by) is excited to be joining ASV as our Grade 2 Blue Teacher.
Mr. Mike is American and from Colorado. He brings with him 20+ years of experience as an elementary teacher, reading specialist, librarian and administrator. Most recently he served as an Elementary Principal in Cherry Creek District, near Denver.
Mr. Mike has been doing virtual transition activities with the class since the beginning of the year in partnership with Ms. Vicky, and is thrilled to finally be here to work with ‘his class’ in person!
Ms. Eleanor Riaye. Grades 3-5 Support Teacher
Ms. Eleanor Riaye is excited to be joining the ASV Team as a Support Teacher for students in Grades 3-5. Ms. Eleanor is British, and has experience teaching both Preschool and Elementary at international schools in the UK, China and Spain.
Eleanor is fluent in English, and Spanish, and also speaks some Mandarin! She will be providing additional instructional and intervention support to students needing to improve their English Speaking, Writing and Math to meet our grade level expectations.
