ASV team celebrating

Varsity Boys Basketball Win the World School Games

We feel extremely proud and excited to celebrate the achievement of our Varsity Boys Basketball Team at the World School Games tournament, held in the prestigious L’Alquería del Basket in Valencia from January 18 to 20, 2025. This marks only our second participation in this highly competitive international event, following a commendable fifth-place finish last year.

The World School Games is renowned for showcasing elite-level performances from schools around the globe and is live-streamed to audiences worldwide. ASV faced challenging group-stage games; however, through determination and skill, ASV emerged victorious in five games, securing first place in their group and earning a well-deserved spot in the final.

The final was an intense and fiercely competitive match against ICS Amman. Displaying remarkable resilience and teamwork, ASV triumphed with a hard-fought 44-36 victory. Looking ahead, the team is already setting their sights on their next major challenge: the European Sports Conference tournament, which will take place in Geneva, Swtzerland in March 2025.

Congratulations to our Varsity Boys Basketball Team and their coaches for their outstanding performance and for making ASV proud! Let’s cheer them on as they prepare for their next adventure in Geneva.

It was a really tough tournament, but we felt pretty solid in every game. Our defense was strong and our offense was quick. Also, being our last year, we were very motivated to win the trophy.
