VALMUN 2016 Started

American School of Valencia started the Fourth Annual VALMUN conference on Friday, November 18, 2016. For three days, students from seven international schools will be in our campus debating on global issues following the official procedures and protocols of the United Nations.
We are pleased to welcome for this activity:
  • American School of Madrid (coming with 13 delegates and 2 teachers).
  • The American School in London (19 delegates and 3 teachers).
  • Cambridge House Community College (12 delegates and 2 teachers).
  • Community School of Naples (8 delegates and 2 teachers who also are having this week their part of the Global Exchange Program with ASV).
  • International School of Luxembourg (12 delegates and 2 teachers).
  • Marymount International School, Paris (13 delegates and 3 teachers).
The ASV Delegation is made up of 26 students registered as delegates and 14 developing the role of chairs. 25 more students will be supporting the conference as admins.

Activities started yesterday afternoon with the registration and time for lobbying. Each delegate had a short time for his/her opening speech. Today, the ASV theater is hosting the Opening Ceremony, featuring an invited speaker from the UN Global Service Center in Valencia, Ms. Katharina Ghidella. We invite all of our community to follow the live streaming on Youtube. Conference debates will take place in the High School area throughout the morning and the afternoon. Students will enjoy free time for sports and other activities as of 17:45 h., followed by the dinner and the dance party. The conference will finish on Sunday at the UN Global Service Center in Valencia.
