Updates on the MSA Accreditation Process

The Planning Team at ASV leading the Middle States Association (MSA) accreditation process would like to keep our school community updated about the recent progress with the completion of the Self-Study for re-accreditation.

The Planning Team is composed of both staff members and parents for the purpose of collaborating on the information provided in the Self-Study.

As you know, three MSA information meetings were provided in February and March 2019 for ASV parents to learn more about the accreditation process and ask any questions. During the week of April 8, 2019, the Elementary, Middle School and High School Student Councils will also be provided with an opportunity to provide input.

ASV’s Director, Michael L. Smith, has also offered three MSA Information to students on March 25, 2019 with Middle School, on April 4, 2019 (pictured above) with High School and on April 5, 2019 with Grades 4 and 5. Mr. Smith shared MSA’s role in the foundation of ASV, and the accreditation cycle, as well as, as how students’ voice is also a valuable component of the accreditation process.

Additionally, after analyzing and processing the results of the MSA Staff and Parent Surveys, a similar survey will be shared with ASV students in Grades 4-12 before Spring Break.

The MSA Planning Team holds a series of regular meetings and by March 31, 2019 the accreditation standards have been completed.  They are now developing the required Student Performance and Organizational Capacity Objectives that are required to plan for growth and improvement over the school’s next accreditation cycle of 2020-2027.

It is anticipated that a Visiting Team from MSA will visit ASV for one week in November 2019.  Please stay tuned about additional information related to ASV’s accreditation with MSA.
