Upcoming Steps of the MSA Accreditation Process

Since its founding in 1980, ASV has been accredited by the Middle States Association, the oldest accreditation association in the United States. Every seven years, the school must undergo a reflection and planning process in order to earn re-accreditation, which is a requirement in order for ASV to operate as an international school (centro extranjero) in Spain.

Throughout the Spring 2026 Semester, the American School of Valencia is completing the key stages of the accreditation process. One significant step was a series of informative meetings with school stakeholders to share information about the process and the benefits of accreditation.

Three meetings were provided for ASV Families and two others took place during school hours with the Elementary Student Council and the Middle School and the High School Student Councils. Earlier in February 2026, there were meetings with our EC-ES and MS-HS Parent Delegates.

In April 2026, a survey designed by MSA will be shared with the school community to collect their perceptions of the school’s present and future.
