Once again American School of Valencia will join on February 21, 2019, the International Mother Language Day, a global celebration on languages and diversity promoted by UNESCO.
Some parents may have noticed that last week a sheet of paper was placed in the atrium. The piece is being the main outcome of the “ASV Street Art” project and aims to be a white wall to collect students’ representations of the beauty of diversity and interculturalism.
The first group creating street art was the one made up by students learning Spanish with Ms. Ana Arjona in Elementary School, children who follow a specific curriculum for non-native learners and collaborate in the ASV World Languages Day celebrations since 2014. More students from Middle and High School have added their works turning the wall into a colorful depiction of the 42 different nations existing at ASV.
