Two teams represented ASV in the Varsity Boys and Girls Soccer Tournament organized by the Iberian League Sports Conference from March 28 to 31. The event was held at Marina d’Or’s in Oropesa (Castellón) and involved 180 players from the five member schools: ASV, The American School of Barcelona, The Carlucci American International School of Lisbon, Benjamin Franklin International School (Barcelona) and The Bilingual School of Provence (France).
We are pleased to report that the ASV Girls team, consisting of students from Grades 8 through 12, was the winner and finished the competition unbeaten. Our girls played the final game on Sunday against American School of Barcelona and won 2-1. Five players were included in the All Star team of the tournament. The Varsity boys team worked exceptionally hard also and finished third; three players were included in the All Star team.
Thanks to the ASV Athletic Director, Mr. Ojelade and his team of ASV staff who worked hard in organizing and running this event. It was great to see a number of ASV parents supporting our teams at the games.
