The ASV Community Runs to Support Cancer Research

On Friday, December 19, 2025, the ASV community gathered for the second ASV FundRun, a meaningful event organized to close the Fall 2025 Semester while contributing to biomedical research through the INCLIVA Foundation.

The event featured a 90-minute run across the school campus, uniting students from Nursery through Grade 12. After an opening lap featuring our youngest students and our Seniors -the Class of 2026- different waves of students combined from different school sections. Each wave was tasked with completing at least four laps, but most students far exceeded this goal, driven by excitement and the spirit of solidarity.

The atmosphere was filled with energy as students were joined by parents and ASV Alumni who came to participate and cheer. Grade 12 also had the honor to run the final lap, taking a leadership role in this special event during their final year at ASV. The event concluded with some words from Mr. Frechina and Mr. Smith who expressed their gratitude to the entire community for their participation and commitment.

Why Running for Cancer Research

Throughout our history, the ASV family has been touched by the loss of cherished members of our school community. We have decided to turn this collective memory into a force for change to build a future with a lower impact of cancer. For this reason, the 2025 Fun Run is supporting the work of INCLIVA, the Biomedical Research Institute associated with the Hospital Clínico Universitario de Valencia.

The fundraiser began on Friday, December 5, 2025, and at the moment of posting this news story has raised €3,700. The campaign will remain open until January 15, 2026. You may access the campaign page here and donate.

The 2025 ASV Fund Run is being complemented with some educational activities addressed to ASV students: the first one took place this past Tuesday, December 16, 2025, when three researchers from INCLIVA visited our school to talk to Grade 12 and Grade 11 classes about cancer research.
