Thanksgiving Tree

Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving is one of the most important holidays in American culture, as it symbolizes a time to pause, eflect, share and express one’s gratitude and thanks for family, friends, health, community and peace, amongst a host of other gifts.

ASV celebrated this holiday on Thursday, November 27, 2025, by holding special activities as well as serving a special Thanksgiving Menu to all of our students. Then, on Friday, students had the day off and the faculty-staff participated in the Annual Professional Development Day.

By continuing this American tradition within our multicultural community, we build together a spirit of appreciation for many things in our lives.

Thanksgiving Week in Early Childhood and Elementary School

The EC and ES sections engaged in Thanksgiving-related activities throughout the week, the most significant being the Thanksgiving Tree created in the Atrium by the group of student-teachers from the University of Kentucky. Leaves with messages gradually populated the tree to reflect what students feel grateful for.

Appreciation was also expressed to our faculty-staff. On Wednesday morning, the Early Childhood and Elementary Leadership team demonstrated their gratitude to the EC/ES faculty-staff by making them coffee and serving in a pop-up coffee stand next to the main entrance.

Finally, on Thanksgiving Day, an American parent visited Grade 1B to talk about this holiday and participate in a colorful art activity.
