Thanksgiving Day Celebrated at ASV

Our school celebrated the American tradition and holiday of Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, November 25, 2021, by offering students a special luncheon, and some grade levels participated in Thanksgiving-related activities.

Children in Grades 1 and 2 had Math and Literacy activities connected to the elements of this holiday and students in Grades 3-5 explored the holiday through creative projects and crafts. Middle School and High School advisors included a mention in their weekly advisory period and invited students to participate in a Thanksgiving Board where varied messages of gratitude were written on yellow turkey-cards for display.

The Thanksgiving Day menu prepared by Colevisa included American salad, turkey served with potatoes, corn, and green beans, and a homemade pumpkin cake that was enjoyed by all.

Thanksgiving is a day where Americans pause to reflect and express their thanks for their blessings: family, friends, colleagues, health, fond memories, and many other good things around them. Giving thanks is also a great way to spread happiness. This week, ASV hopes to have integrated this feeling in the daily experience of our students and their families.
