Return to School after Heavy Rains Alert

School activity has been affected this week by new alerts of heavy rains caused by a DANA. Throughout Tuesday, November 12, the Spanish Weather Agency (AEMET) reported on upcoming severe weather conditions over the Valencia region and the Valencian Emergency Agency (GVA 112) declared a pre-emergency alert beginning on Wednesday. November 13, 2024.

The official recommendation to reduce mobility due to the heavy rains and the cancellation of classes declared by 50+ towns including Valencia led to the closure of the school campus on Wednesday and Thursday. On Wednesday evening, the weather alert scaled to red level (the highest possible according to current protocols) and Generalitat Valenciana restricted private mobility in 163 towns and cities including Valencia and all of the Horta Nord area.

Fortunately, rain was not so intense and restrictions were removed on Thursday afternoon. As planned, the school campus reopened yesterday. We appreciate your understanding and support in this extraordinary situation.
