ASV is pleased to present the recent renovation of the kitchen and the main dining hall. The construction began on June 22, 2024, right after the end of the 2023-2024 academic year, and was completed on September 8 to welcome our students on the first day of classes. The project had two major goals: improve the capacity of the kitchen to prepare 1,100 meals daily and reorganize the dining hall to improve the student experience.
The new kitchen is open, large and has a more efficient layout. It is equipped with state-of-the-art and energy efficient appliances to ensure safe food handling, increase the food preparation capacity and to align efficient energy use with the school’s sustainable development goals. Students are served at two larger serving lines from where they can see how their meal is prepared.
The dining hall has three areas with new furniture and decoration adapted to the grade levels assigned. Middle School students, for example, eat in modules with benches facing each other… restaurant style.
The ASV sustainability goals have been considered when planning this project. New windows and air conditioning systems improve energy efficiency, while water filling stations will reduce the use of plastic bottles. Additionally, there is a new cleaning area for easy waste separation.
Thank you to our food service partners Colevisa for their support in realizing this important facility improvement.
