Students enjoyed a school holiday on Friday, November 24, 2023 on the occasion of the traditional Thanksgiving Break. In the meantime, ASV faculty-staff participated in the annual ASV Professional Development Day coordinated by the Director of Teaching, Learning and Curriculum, Ms. Amanda Bird.
The day included a variety of workshops for teaching and non-teaching staff in a wide range of areas such as curriculum development, Math and Language teaching, Standards-Based Approach, Morning Meetings, Adolescent Care and Preventions, teaching with Artificial Intelligence, and other areas.
As an international school there are also periodic and required protocol reviews that we address every year, such as the Child Protection Protocol, which was led by two members of the Child Protection Team, Ms. Monique Núñez (Student Support Services Coordinator) and Dr. María Alonso (Grades 3-6 Counselor).
Faculty-staff also conducted a Shelter in Place Drill followed by the traditional Thanksgiving luncheon in which members of the ASV Board of Governors attended.
