Preschool and Elementary School Sports Days

American School of Valencia beliefs that physical activity increases personal fitness and motor skill development, strengthens relationships, and boosts academic learning. For this reason, the school offers a wide range of athletic opportunities and all of the school divisions hold an annual Sports Day. Preschool and Elementary classes had this week these activities.

The Elementary Sports Day held Monday had two parts: in the morning students in different grades and a Grade 5 captains competed in a round of sport and skill-based games. After lunch Grades 3 through 5 had a Track and Field competition and an additional period to play soccer, basketball, and handball.

The Preschool Sports Day took place on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:15. Guided by their teachers and assistants children had lots of fun doing relay races (with a stuffed-toy used as stick), scooter races, a small gymkhana, and the fun catch-the-mouse game.
