Parents of students in 3th, 4th, and 5th grade were invited on Thursday, September 22, 2016 to attend the first of our three Parents Night. We had excellent attendance and are very grateful to our parents–students benefit greatly from a committed and meaningful partnership! The purpose of Parens Night was to share more information about the school programs and goals. The encounter was also an opportunity to meet their child’s homeroom teacher and the specialists working at his/her grade
The Preschool and Elementary Principal, Dr. Ann C. Kox, offered an opening presentation and described the ASV Lines of Effort for 2016-2017. Dr. Kox summed up which goals are specifically applied in Elementary School. The incentives part of the PBIS program, a grading system consistent with the use of the Common Core Standards, and the increase of student assessment information are some significant features that ASV is applying or extending at these grades.
