As part of the numerous tasks required after the end of the 2020-2021 Academic Year, American School of Valencia is able to share the academic results achieved by the Class of 2021 in their external examinations.  This information includes the UNED PCE examinations (taken by ASV graduates interested in entering into a Spanish university), the International Baccalaureate external examinations (taken by ASV students completing the IB Diploma Program), and the SAT Test (required commonly by American universities).  The results were partially announced on June 29, 2021 in the ASV Annual Parent Meeting, and are as follows:

PCE at UNED – University Admission Results in Spain

ASV students taking the PCE exams at UNED received their results on June 22, 2021.  After reviewing this information with the Spanish Technical Director and the Academic Leadership Team, ASV is pleased to announce the overall results for our Grade 12 PCE cohort who study  this academic pathway:

UNED PCE Exams

The 2021 PCE Entrance Grade Mean is the third highest result in ASV’s history, and this is also the fifth consecutive year that ASV students have earned an 8.22 or higher on the PCE exams.

2021 IB External Exams

As scheduled, the International Baccalaureate Organization released the results of the 2021 IB External Examinations necessary to earn the International Baccalaureate Diploma on July 5, 2021. ASV is very pleased to announce that the ASV Grade 12 IB cohort earned a 36.24 average, which is the highest IB result since ASV began offering the IB in 2004.

IB Exams

Please, note that the IB final grade for each diploma candidate is out of a maximum score of 45. Worldwide, students completing the IB Diploma have achieved an average of 33 points out of 45, which means that the ASV Grade 12 IB cohort scored ten percent higher than the IB world average.  Additionally, seven students earned an impressive 40 points or higher, which is the largest number of ASV students to reach this milestone.

SAT

In addition to the exemplary academic results of the Class of 2021, ASV also administers other external assessments that serve as key barometers of ASV’s commitment to sustaining excellence.  One of these assessments, especially for students who wish to study in the United States, is the SAT organized by The College Board.

Based on the May 2021 administration of the SAT amongst Grade 10 and 11 students, the results are as follows:
