Our student Maria C. (Grade 7) and Ms. Asuncion Barrachina, the Social Studies teacher in Elementary School, traveled to Madrid to participate in the official meeting of the winners of the school competition What Does Being a King Mean to You? with King Felipe VI.
The audiencia took place in El Pardo Palace on Monday morning and it is the traditional closure of this activity, usually one year after the announcement of the winners on each regional edition. Winning students in 2018 had a chance to present their works to King Felipe. Previously on Sunday evening they had a dinner with representatives of Fundación Institucional Española (FIES), the organizers of the competition.
This year ASV is also happy to know that Ms. Asun was asked to give a short speech on behalf of all of the educators involved in this extracurricular activity. Our teacher was selected by FIES because of the long history of ASV in this competition.
