ASV successfully concluded the 12th annual edition of Valencia Model United Nations (VALMUN), the school’s Model United Nations Conference. The 2024 event took place from on November 22, 23 and 24 at the ASV campus and gathered more than 270 student-delegates seven international schools.
VALMUN delegates embarked on a three-day journey beginning with the Opening Ceremony on Friday evening which had a keynote speaker representing the UN Global Service Center in Valencia. The intense day of debates on Saturday saw delegates engaging in discussions on cultural heritage, artificial intelligence, autonomous military weapons systems or the environmental impact of electronic waste among a total number of 14 topics.
As many other MUN conferences, Sunday included a Crisis Debate -in which lobbying and preparing resolutions under time constraints adds an element of realism and urgency to the work developed by delegates. After this part, the Closing Ceremony offered the opportunity to recognize delegates who had a remarkable performance in their committees. Congratulations to the conference team as well as to the ASV student-delegates for their hard work.
