MSA Spring 2025 Update

Since ASV was founded in 1980, the Middle States Association: Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS) has been the American accreditation association of the school. With the approaching end of the current accreditation cycle in May 2027, we are pleased to share the progress we have made with the four MSA Student Performance and Organizational Capacity Objectives as an integral part of the school’s 2020-2027 MSA accreditation cycle.

The action plans for each objective must be implemented throughout the seven year accreditation cycle, and a Mid-Term Report detailing ASV’s progress was presented and accepted by MSA in July 2023. For each objective there are both internal and external measures which we are required to use to monitor our progress and measure student and organizational achievements.

We are pleased to share that ASV has achieved 90% of its intended objective results with more than two years remaining to implement our objectives, and well ahead of the standard 75% objective completion rate at this time in the accreditation cycle.  We are especially proud of the progress of our success with the Student Performance Objectives, where our students are consistently achieving higher results in MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) than their international, regional and national student peers in Literacy and Math.

In September 2025 ASV will begin to focus on the next MSA accreditation cycle for 2027-2034 using the Excellence by Design Protocol. As a school community, we will review and reflect upon how we are meeting the five MSA Standards for Accreditation, and we will decide on new MSA Student Performance and Organizational Capacity Objectives in anticipation of an onsite peer review from an MSA Visiting Team in 2026-2027.

Please stay tuned for future updates and as always, thank you for your continued support.
