American School of Valencia is hosting the 2015 edition of MAIS Summer Institute on June 24 and 25. Dr. Kristy Beam, Dr. Johanna Cena (Principal at ASB) and Jenny Killion (literacy coach at ASB) will lead a two-day training for K-8 educators called “Implementing Reading and Writing Workshop in Standards-Based International Schools”.
Presenters will focus on how to blend Reading and Writing Workshop with Common Core Standards. Participant teachers will learn how to use Common Core / AERO Standards within the workshop model. Using practical tools for analyzing and collecting student data, they will increase their capacity for differentiated instruction.
