MAIS Conference: Setting Learning on Fire

This week Valencia hosted the 2017 MAIS Annual Conference, a meeting for international educators co-organized by the Mediterranean Association of International Schools and the American School of Valencia. Under the slogan Setting Learning on Fire, 340 educators representing 44 schools members came to Valencia to collaborate and learn together in multiple areas of contemporary education. Many faculty members participated the main conference as part of the ASV annual professional development program.

The MAIS Annual Conference included two major keynotes and over 80 specific workshops educators joined depending on their teaching area or school position. Job alike sessions and free time for networking make possible a profitable exchange of experiences and ideas with colleagues of other schools.

On Saturday afternoon, the ASV Director, Mr. Michael L. Smith, and the Preschool and Elementary Principal, Dr. Ann C. Kox, led a professional panel on school-university partnerships together with Dr. Thomas Guskey and Dr. Sharon Brennan, from the University of Kentucky.
