ASV was represented by 20 students during the Madrid Model United Nations conference (MADMUN 2018). The event took place at American School of Madrid from April 6 to 8, 2018.
The first day delegates performed opening speeches and began lobbying, which means that they set preliminary contacts with other students representing various countries in order to mesh their ideas to prepare resolutions on a number of current global issues. Saturday was the day for debates in committees on these aforementioned resolutions. On Sunday, the conference finished with the crisis scenario, a general assembly in which delegates must cooperate to prepare and approve a resolution solving an immediate international issue.
The conference was a great experience. One of our students was awarded as the most improved delegate for the disarmament committee.
