Kinder through Grade 5 Celebrate Success by Introducing the PBIS Awards Assemblies

Friday, November 4, 2022, was a historic celebration as Elementary School kicked off the Monthly PBIS Awards Assemblies for Kinder to Grade 2 and Grades 3-5 respectively. This was an opportunity to gather, recognize and celebrate some of the hard work, effort, and excellent behavior students are demonstrating on a daily basis here at the American School of Valencia.

Awards were presented to one student from each class in each of the following four categories:

  • Achievement Award: This award recognizes students who consistently achieve a high degree of excellence in their daily learning
  • Most Growth Award: This award recognizes students who have demonstrated high levels of growth in their learning
  • CARE Award: This award recognizes students who have been observed and identified as continuously exhibiting our CARE Values in all environments by their teachers and school leadership
  • Spanish Award: This award recognizes students who have consistently demonstrated high performance and great effort in Spanish Class

Please join us in congratulating this month’s award winners on their accomplishments!

Character education in Middle School and High School

While this happened in Kinder and Elementary School, ASV has initiated a reflection on the Come Prepared value goal with all of the classes in Middle School and High School.

Students will be asked to reflect on the question “Are you prepared?” during the morning homeroom sessions. In Middle School, students will be using the Advisory time to create work for the Come Prepared Assembly (November 21). They will prepare presentations that will include reflections on their own experiences as well as helpful advice to others.
