Dr. Kox comes to the American School of Valencia after serving for three years as the Superintendent of the Wausaukee School District in Wisconsin (USA).  Prior to her work in Wausaukee, Dr. Kox served as the Elementary and Middle School Principal at the American School of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Intermediate and Middle School Principal in the Waterloo School District (Wisconsin, USA), and as the Assistant Director of Special Education for the Cooperative Educational Service Agency.

Dr. Kox holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in English and a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Special Education from the University of Wisconsin, as well as a Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership from Edgewood College. She holds multiple certifications as a Principal, Director of Teaching and Learning, Director of Pupil Services, English and Special Education.

She will be relocating to Valencia in mid-August with her husband, Mr. Brian Kox, who will serve as a High School Learning Support Specialist, and her two children. In accepting the position as the Preschool and Elementary Principal,  Dr. Kox remarked:

“My family and I are delighted to be joining the educational team at ASV!  My career has been dedicated to strengthening outcomes for students: helping students to redefine their expectations of themselves, supporting teachers to maximize their effect, and connecting with parents to combine our efforts. The work begins with listening and understanding the needs of the school; every school has its unique history and personality, just like every student.  I hope to hear from each parent, teacher and student regarding what you love about ASV, and what your thoughts are to continue strengthening the overall program. The best programs are balanced and coordinated, attending to all aspects of student development so that students are truly college and career ready, graduating with many doors open. I look forward to using all I know about educational leadership and school improvement to add value to your child’s education.  Please email me to introduce yourself at annkox@asvalencia.org.”
