Advisory time on Thursday, February 24, 2022, in Middle School and High School was assigned to hold special learning activities in relation to International Mother Language Day. This event is celebrated annually at ASV has consolidated at ASV as a way to encourage language diversity in the world.
A number of Grade 11 and 12 students visited other classes to offer a presentation on languages within the ASV community and the values of learning other languages. The presentation included fun audio quizzes and games alongside instructions for the activity The Wall of ‘I Love You’.
The ASV community is invited to explore the special website designed this year which includes an interesting section of international recipes and a collection of movies, podcasts and other resources to learn languages.
International Mother Language Day (February 21), sponsored by UNESCO, promotes awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism.
