Grade 12 IB Students Practice Individual Orals (IO) with an AI tool
This week, Grade 12 IB English Language and Literature students have been preparing for their official Individual Oral (IO), an internal assessment that asks students to explore an intriguing global issue through the lens of a literary and non-literary work.
In pairs, students provided feedback, using radical candor, to practice and hone the delivery of the Oral. They also practiced the five-minute Q&A portion of the Oral on Flint, an Ed-tech platform. “Grade 12 found that this AI-activity boosted their confidence when talking about the texts “on-demand” and sparked new ways of thinking about their texts in relation to the global issue,” IB English teacher Ms. Kyle Anne Kiraly describes. Grade 12 is excited to continue using AI as a tool to enhance their critical thinking skills!
