On May 11 and 12, our school participated in the Spring 2026 round of the Iberia League Middle School tournaments. ASV hosted the Girls Volleyball event while the boys and basketball teams travelled and competed at the American School of Madrid facilities.
Girls Volleyball Tournament
Our Grade 6, 7, and 8 Volleyball girls got to the final game after winning the American School of Madrid and the American School of Barcelona. Benjamin Franklin International School were deserving winners, but our student-athletes can be enormously proud — playing with skill, heart, and the ASV way throughout the tournament.
The Athletic Center was packed with students and teachers whose support made the atmosphere truly electric. It was a day the whole school will remember!
Soccer and Basketball Tournaments
This tournament featured teams from the four core Iberia schools, while our teams also had the opportunity to bond while sightseeing and eating in the center of Madrid.
It was fantastic to see many Grade 6 students having their first Iberia League experience. There was a great atmosphere on the ASM campus as many staff, students and parents came out to support their teams.
All of our teams competed well and grew so much throughout the tournament. The ASV girls’ soccer team defeated the ASM team 6-0 in the final to win the tournament for the second consecutive year.
