Holiday Activities at ASV (2)

Preschool and Elementary

Santa visited the students  in Preschool. He came with two funny elves, who helped him to go around all of the classrooms and distribute a small gift to each child. Some classes had their Christmas letters ready, so they were able to deliver them.

ASV Foundation Used Toy and Book Sale for Kapita School

On behalf of the ASV Foundation, the Elementary School Student Council organized a used toy and books sale on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 18 and 18, 2018. Thanks to the wonderful participation, the sale was a success with €418 collected! With these funds and the high school sponsored bakes sales in 201 ,  the American School of Valencia Foundation can fund some much needed reading books for Kapita School students in Zambia.

Grades 1-3 Winter Concert

Hundreds of parents and other family members came on Tuesday, December 18, 2018  to enjoy the last of our Winter Concerts, the one featuring students in Grades 1 to 3. The music teacher, Ms. Esther Munteanu, prepared songs  for each class, other pieces for the two groups in the same grade level, and a final performance involving all of the children. Thank you very much for coming! The video recording will be shared online in February 2019.

Middle and High School. Spirit Week

The Student Council led the ASV Spirit Week.  Students in Middle and High School were invited to join some fun activities throughout the week and each advisory group had a chance to earn points for the Winter Spirit Cup.

Starting on Monday, December 17, 2018 there was a chance to dress in a special way (pajama day, twin day, nationality day, social media day and holiday day), compete in  daily challenges in the atrium, as well as participate -as a whole class- in the door decorating contest. On Friday, December 21, 2018 there was a final raffle with interesting prizes courtesy of EDEM, Bankia, Horchateria Daniel, Mi Niña Lola and Flamingueo.

The Student Council also congratulates Ms. Nonay’s class for winning the Door Decoration Contest. You can see their nice nativity depicted above.

Basketball Charity Game

Complementing the Spirit Week, some teachers and High School students played a charity basketball game on Friday afternoon. Middle School students who attended paid a small entrance fee and the funds will be given to the Preventorio, a children’s home in Real de Gandia, to pay the electricity bill.
