Seventy-three students in grades 10 and 11 took the exams PSAT and ACT Plan on Wednesday, October 15, 2014. These two exams allow students to become familiar with two most important American college admissions exams, the SAT and ACT respectively.
The High School Guidance Department supervised the examination session. Guidance Counselor Ms. Verónica Cinosi shared that “students took it seriously because they know that good marks in the SAT or ACT open the doors to university in the States and other international destinations.” She also thought they appreciated “the opportunity to see how they would do before taking the real tests.”
PSAT and ACT Plan assess academic knowledges and reasoning skills in the critical reading, writing, and math. The ACT Plan assesses science as well. “By taking one of these exams students learn to create an study plan”, Ms. Cinosi commented, “and are able to detect in which specific academic areas they could improve.”
ASV students can take SAT and ACT tests in our campus on ten different dates throughout the entire school year as we are an official testing center for the College Board.
