Grades 7 to 12 enjoyed an assembly on Thursday in which students were recognized for Honor Roll, ASV Respect Award and other achievements. Director Michael L. Smith began the assembly with a minute of silence in remembrance of the victims of the air crash in the French Alps. The mood of the assembly shifted into a celebration of life with a performance by the grade 9 music group. They played a fantastic piece and had the whole crowd humming.
The 2015 THIMUN delegation shared their topics of debate, showed photos and were awarded certificates of merit by Mr. Boyer and MUN Co-coordinators, Eric Johnson and Susan Belmonte. The ASV Robotics team also presented their experience in the First Lego League competition and showed the trophy they received. The audience also learned more about the ASV-CSN exchange through a video with interviews with the CSN students who are at ASV this week.
Finally, to conclude the assembly the Assistant Director and High School Principal, Ms. Robyn Chapel, announced the 2nd term Honor Roll and presented the eighteen winners of the ASV Respect Award, a recognition to all those students who best represent the ASV profile of the graduate.
