Grade 11 students taking the Business Management course recently dove into an exciting hands-on project to develop a new ASV Snack. Throughout the last three weeks, diverse student teams have been working on every stage of a product development process, from conducting market research to designing the product, testing it with focus groups, and presenting their final proposals. Their plans covered all of the essential areas of a business plan: company’s mission, market analysis, cost analysis, price setting and marketing strategy.
The presentations held during the first week of June were a huge hit, with participants enjoying a diverse array of delicious and nutritious snack samples. Students incorporated feedback from earlier focus groups.
Ms. Pardo, their teacher, was thrilled with the outcome: “Creating a marketing plan is an excellent activity to wrap up the content of the last unit of the year. Overall, students have had good creative ideas but not all groups have shown the attention to small details that a good marketing presentation requires”.
This hands-on project aimed to give students real-world business development experience.
