A long-serving member of the School Office finished her career at ASV this past week. On Thursday, April 30, 2026, Ms. Elena Gómez Artés, a beloved school secretary, retired after 36 years of service to our school community.
For many years, Ms. Elena was the first face teachers and students could see in the morning, welcoming everyone with a big smile. In addition to her human qualities, she has been a competent school secretary, always ready to help our families answering their calls and emails and solving any need they had regarding messages, permissions, absences, documentation, and more.
In a short celebration held in the latest Faculty Meeting, in which she received a gift and a tribute song, Ms. Elena expressed her special bond to ASV: “If I were 36 years younger, I’d start again to work here because I love this school,” she said.
The entire community will miss her kindness, patience and capacity.
