Valencia is not officially celebrating Fallas in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but ASV organized a Fallas Cultural Week for all groups in Preschool and Elementary School. The learning activities took place from Monday to Friday with most of the activities taking place in the Spanish and Valencian Language classes from PreKinder 1 to Grade 5.
Students and staff in Preschool and Elementary dressed up this past Friday in the traditional blouses and bandanas, and a few even came with more elaborate costumes to celebrate this special holiday! Students enjoyed activities linking the school curriculum with Valencian culture and traditions. There was a variety of art and crafts, reading and writing activities, music listening and much more.
The school lunch provider, Colevisa, also prepared a special lunch and the traditional chocolate drink, served in all classrooms in the afternoon. Thanks to the Colevisa staff for all of their support and effort in helping to celebrate Fallas!
