Congratulations to our varsity teams for their efforts in the three athletic tournaments taking place this past week in Valencia, Lisbon, and Milan.
Girls Soccer
As we mentioned on ASV Voices 170, American School of Valencia hosted the Girls Varsity Soccer Tournament, which involved teams from five schools member of the European Sports Conference. All teams had to battle with the horrendous weather; due to the heavy rains, Friday games were canceled but coaches were to be able to adjust and complete the tournament on Saturday.
Volleyball
The Varsity Volleyball Team travelled to Italy to play the tournament organized by the American School of Milan. For the second year running our girls came back with the sportsmanship award voted by the players of the other 11 teams involved. This says a lot about the teams open minded attitude and willingness to connect with the other girls from all over the world.
Boys Soccer
Finally, the Varsity Boys Soccer Team (playing at Lisbon) produced an excellent result in finishing third of the 12 participating teams. Manuel Perez managed the incredible achievement of being selected by the coaches of the other teams as the best player of the 180 boys involved in the tournament. Well done!
