The ASV Girl’s Junior Varsity team traveled to Barcelona to compete in the Iberian Cup, a three team tournament involving the American Schools of Valencia, Barcelona and Madrid. The ASV team which featured students in six, seven and eight grade lead by Marina Ortells who did a great job as captain.
The format of the tournament would see each team play the other two teams twice before the top two teams faced each other in the final. ASV were through to the final where they would face AS Barcelona. Although the girls fought valiantly, a number of injuries and some very tired bodies contributed as ASB came away as champions, winning 3-0.
Our girl’s were hosted by the ASB families who were full of praise for how polite, sociable and well-mannered the girls were. A huge thank you to Mr. Andy Ojelade, for coaching the team, and Ms. Veronica Cinosi for coming along as chaperone for the weekend!
