The school community gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of a new graduating class, the Class of 2018. The Graduation and Awards Ceremony was held in Park C on Friday, June 1, 2018, with families, friends and the High School faculty supporting the graduates in this final stage of their life at ASV. The Class of 2018 is the 26th group of students graduating from ASV and, with this cohort, ASV has graduated more than 1,000 students.
The President of the Board of Governors, Dr. Alberto Domingo; the school director, Mr. Michael L. Smith; the High School Principal, Mr. Christopher Johnson; and the President of the ASV Alumni Association, Ms. Blanca Simon; were in charge of the opening speeches. Graduates were encouraged to face this new stage of their lives by accepting the challenges of 21st century, pursuing excellence, and making a difference in the world around them.
As is the tradition, some graduating students received awards for outstanding academic performance (globally or on specific knowledge areas) and for representing the school values. They are:
- Patricia Portilla. Best Student in Humanities
- Marta Ortiz. Best Student in Science
- Pablo Molina. English Utopia Award
- Veronika Chernitska. International Understanding Award
- Neus Forner. Ambassador’s Award
- Pablo Molina. Director’s Award
- Luis Sevillá. Salutatorian

A new life at university awaits for all of the 2018 graduates. Many are waiting for the results of the Spanish university entrance exam but others already have admission letters to prestigious universities in other countries. Have a look at the notice board recently set up in the school atrium.
