Co-curricular Activities

ASV+

ASV+ is the official co-curricular activities program at the American School of Valencia. Students at ASV may participate in a variety of athletic teams, STEM, dance, music, and world languages as an co-curricular activity.  All of them (except for Français and Deutsch) are instructed in English by expert coaches and teachers within the school day.

Students have the opportunity to train or attend classes throughout the week, but they also play in athletic matches and tournaments. In the case of dance, music and world language activities, perform at ASV community events or other external activities.

An Enriching Experience

The ASV+ program is addressed to students in Prekinder 2 through Grade 12. The list of activities is adapted to each age level and offer an opportunity to practice sports or develop each child’s interest on arts, dance and technology. A key fact is the schedule, as ASV`+ activities took place within the school day and do not affect study and resting time at home or family routines such as transportation. Only athletic teams in Middle and High School do have an afternoon training session, as it is recommended for these levels.

Outstanding Facilities

ASV+ students enjoy our outstanding facilities and services to have the highest benefit on their time developing their activity. Sports groups use our outdoor school parks, the Athletic Field and the Athletic Center. The Athletic Field is a high-performance artificial turf pitch for both Soccer and Field Hockey. The Athletic Center has rooms for our Dance groups with mirrors, ballet barres, padded floor and acoustic system. The Athletic Court is a high-performance wooden floor court for Volleyball and Basketball. STEM groups use the High School Computer Lab and one of the multimedia integrated classrooms in Elementary School.

Represent ASV

Students have the opportunity to compete representing our school in local, national and international competitions. ASV also takes part in interschool athletic events, offering a time to meet and compete with students of other international or bilingual schools from Valencia. Junior Varsity and Varsity Teams travel and play AMAC, ESC and Iberian League tournaments against other international schools from Spain, Portugal, France, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Morocco, and Algeria.

Stay Connected!

Families have continuous information on activities and upcoming events for their children and received two progress reports in December and June. For our young ones there are specific events open for the families to come and join their child in his/her activity (Open House) and also they can join us in the games and cheer for our players. Dance activities participate in the Christmas Concert and also have a special show at the end of the school year in which language activities also participate.
