Valencia is hosting the Spanish Field Hockey Tournament for U16 Regional Teams. Two members of the ASV community are taking part in this event: the student María Domingo Serna (left picture), player of the Valencia U-16 Girls’ Team, and the ASV+ coach Vicente Orero (right picture, with white polo), who is coaching leading the Valencia U-16 Boys’ Team.
Currently studying in 10th Grade, María was included in the team with three other teammates from CH Xaloc. On Thursday, March 30 they played against Madrid (loss 2-0). On Friday, March 31 they had matches against Cantabria (win 3-0) and Euskadi (draw 1-1).
Vicente, who is ASV+ field hockey coach for 3th, 4th, and 5th grades, is coaching the Valencia Boys’ U-16 Team for second time in his career, after previous experiences with the U-18 Girls team. Prior to this tournament his team offered 30 training sessions addressed to selecting the players and creating a unified team made of players from different local teams. They are working hard and after winning their two games of the first round on Thursday and Friday, the team faces the final rounds plenty of confidence. Please wish then much success!
