Child Protection Training Reinforces ASV’s Commitment to Student Safety

The American School of Valencia continues to prioritize student well-being through its robust Child Protection Protocols. This past week, all members of our Child Protection Team participated in a two-day workshop led by Ms. Debbie Downes of the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (ICMEC), a global NGO advocating for child safety since 1999. The training focused on empowering school leaders to make informed decisions in safeguarding scenarios.

According to Ms. Downes, “with this thorough training on the foundations of child protection, school leaders will feel more prepared to make policies and procedures, and to make decisions around child safety concerns”.

Regular and annual child protection training sessions ensure that ASV’s child protection practices remain current and effective. By continually strengthening faculty-staff preparedness, the school fosters a safer, more responsive learning environment for all students.
