Carlos Vicente Completes a Great Season Playing Tennis for Tennessee Tech

For student-athletes attending American universities and playing athletics, the end of an academic year is more than just final exams . . . it is also the time for conference championship matches and the national NCAA tournament.

ASV is proud to know that Carlos Vicente (Class of 2018) has earned the 2019 Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Freshman of the Year Award for his outstanding contributions on the tennis court in his first year at Tennessee Tech (USA). In addition, he was also selected amongst all conference players to the All Ohio Valley Conference First-Team, along with helping his team win the Ohio Valley Conference Championship.

Carlos’ team started the 2019 OVC Tournament in Nashville, Tennessee in the top position after an outstanding regular season. The Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles won the conference tournament after securing a 4-2 win over Jacksonville State in the finals. As a result of their conference championship win, the Tennessee Teach team will now play the national NCAA tennis championships on May 16-25, 2019.

Many congratulations on Carlos’ personal achievements, but more importantly the positive impact he has contributed to helping his team succeed. Best wishes at the NCAA tournament in Orlando, Florida against the NCAA number 2 ranked University of Texas team.
