Common Sense, the American nonprofit organization dedicated to helping kids and families thrive in a world of media and technology, has renewed the recognition of the American School of Valencia as a Common Sense School. This distinction is granted to schools that commit to prepare students to think critically and use technology responsibly. ASV has held this recognition since 2021.
Digital Citizenship is part of the Personal and Social Education Program offered at ASV. Those lessons have a relevant role in grades 3-5 and Middle School and are taught by our school counselors in those levels, Dr. María Alonso and Ms. Laura Durner . “With the right support, students can take ownership of their digital lives and change their communities for the better,” they say, “ASV feels honored with this recognition as it acknowledges our commitment to creating a culture of digital citizenship.”
