ASV Ready for VALMUN 2021

The American School of Valencia will host the ninth edition of VALMUN on December 17 and 18, 2021.  This edition will take place on campus and will involve over 100 delegates from three registered schools: Cambridge House Community College, Caxton College, and American School of Valencia.  Visiting delegates will participate with all the required COVID prevention measures.

In recent weeks, ASV delegates have been working on their resolutions, and have practiced debating skills by developing mock debates. As with any other MUN conference, VALMUN is a student-driven activity in which a group of senior members with broad experience in MUN programs define the theme, provide the basic information on the discussion topics and moderate the debates according to the United Nations procedures.

VALMUN’s Secretary General in 2021, Gaia L. (Grade 12), is “definitely excited for the conference”, as this year there will be face-to-face debates. She is confident that it will be a success: “Both delegates and officers are ready, we started preparing more than two months ago, and I have seen real progress from everyone. For most of the delegates, it is their first time in MUN and thus we hold the responsibility of making this a positive experience that will push them to keep this journey going,”

Valencia Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate participants about current events, topics in international relations, diplomacy, and the United Nations agenda.
